Best Brake Pads and Discs for Porsche 911 / Cayman / Boxster — Bangalore Buyer's Guide

Porsche 911 / 718 use one of three brake systems: standard steel discs, PSCB (tungsten-coated cast iron) or PCCB (carbon-ceramic). Pad chemistry is different for each — getting this wrong is expensive.

    TL;DR — Our picks for Porsche 911 / 718

    OE Pick

Genuine Porsche pad set (Pagid friction inside) — full warranty, exact pedal feel.

    OES Pick (best value)

Pagid OE-equivalent — literally the same pad, Pagid box. ~30% saving.

    Upgrade Pick

Pagid RSL29 (track + street) — only if you actually track the car.

Why brake choice matters on this car

Standard 911 Carrera uses 6-piston front fixed calipers and 350 mm discs. Carrera S / GTS step up to 350–408 mm discs and PSCB option. Turbo and GT3 / GT4 RS use larger steel or PCCB.

Pagid is the OE pad supplier for 911 / 718 across most variants. Textar and Brembo also appear in the OE supply chain. Porsche is unusual in that the OE pad is genuinely one of the best pads available — fitting an "upgrade" pad often makes the car worse for daily driving.

    Common pitfalls on Porsche 911 / 718

    • PSCB pads cannot be used on standard steel discs and vice versa. PCCB pads are again different. Get the system right before ordering — share a photo of the caliper colour (red / yellow / white / acid green) along with the chassis.
    • On 991 / 992 911, do not use cheap aftermarket "ceramic-style" pads. They glaze on the OE iron disc and produce judder.
    • GT3 / GT3 RS / GT4 RS have unique pad SKUs and are usually on indent — 2–4 weeks lead time for genuine Porsche-box pads.
    • EPB requires PIWIS or equivalent OBD tool to retract the rear caliper for pad change.

What we need to quote the right brakes

We do not dispatch any brake part without first verifying the chassis number against the manufacturer catalogue — this is how we make sure the part that leaves our warehouse is the correct one for your car.

    VIN / Chassis NumberRequired

17-character VIN from the windshield base, driver-side door jamb or RC book. Required — variants of the same model can use different brake parts.

    Make, Model & YearRequired

For example: Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG (W212), 2014. Tells us which catalogue to check.

    OE Part Number (if known)Bonus

Printed on the back-plate of the worn pad or on the disc edge — speeds up cross-reference and pricing.

    Clear photo of the partBonus

A WhatsApp photo of the worn pad (back-plate side), disc edge and caliper helps confirm fitment for facelift / imported variants.

Every order is verified against your VIN / chassis number before dispatch, so a wrong-part shipment from our side is extremely rare. In the unlikely event that we ship a part that does not match the chassis number you shared, we will replace it at our cost. The only case where a return is not accepted is if the chassis / engine number itself was given incorrectly at the time of order — please double-check it from your RC book before confirming.
